Welcome to Art Expeditions, a sister site of American Nomad Traveler – where we Travel the World through ART.

I’m Adele and I’m your guide and we learn about fabulous art, delve into art history and tour the best art museums throughout the world.

The idea for Art Expeditions came as a way to have a central site with a list of all US Art Museums and focus on upcoming exhibitions. That idea has evolved into a travel and art history website focused on expeditions in art. From the Renaissance to Impressionism, Modern Art and beyond, we’ll learn about the history and stories behind great art through:

Why Art History:

• Are you hooked on shows like Outlander or The Crown? You already are falling for a bit of history and romance…
• When people think about history they assume it is just a list of dates about people who died centuries ago and don’t really matter today…WRONG!
• History is our foundation and is usually more entertaining than your favorite soap opera, drama series or action movie.
• History is about people – just like you and me and the extrordinary (and ordinary) lives they lived.
• Art History tells the story through the beauty and intrigue of Art…
  • What history inspired the most famous paintings?
  • Why does art matter? What can we learn about life today from art?

We’ll explore art through different viewpoints and have a lot of fun.

While I don’t have a degree in Art History…I have a deep Art History background…

• college level art history classes (Belmont University)
• 2 years volunteering at an art museum (The FRIST)
• 100 hours of self-taught study through programs like The Great Courses, art museum programs and more
• Have visited hundreds of art museums and learned from experts in their fields (tours, interactive exhibits, etc…)
• I’m a working artist (Adele Lassiter Creative) – you can see my work on my website and my facebook page.
